PROJECT 04 / FULL-STACK / PLATFORM ENGINEERING
CarePlus.
One platform. Three perspectives.
A hospital management platform bringing patient, doctor, and admin workflows into one connected system, with role-aware access at its core.
connected.
of care.
01 / CONTEXT
The problem.
Patients, doctors, and administrators interact with the same platform in different ways. The challenge is to support those distinct workflows while maintaining clear boundaries between roles.
02 / APPROACH
From question to system.
A React frontend and Node.js / Express backend connect three application portals through a MongoDB-backed system. JWT and RBAC support role-aware access, with Stripe and Cloudinary handling payment and media integrations.
03 / ARCHITECTURE & WORKFLOW
How the pieces connect.
A conceptual overview of the project’s main components.
- 01Role-specific portal
- 02JWT / RBAC
- 03Express API
- 04MongoDB & integrations
04 / IMPLEMENTATION
Decisions that matter.
Design around three roles
Patient, Doctor, and Admin portals organize the experience around each participant's responsibilities.
Centralize backend capabilities
More than 15 REST API endpoints connect the portals to shared application capabilities.
Use dedicated integrations
Stripe and Cloudinary supply focused payment and media capabilities within the broader platform.
05 / OUTCOMES & LEARNINGS
What the work taught me.
CarePlus brings three portals and 15+ API endpoints into a connected hospital management application. The project emphasizes role-aware design and the coordination of authentication, persistence, and external integrations.
